Double Sided Bills/Documents
Richmond December 2nd, 1862 Series $10 Confederate note. The background scene displays the Columbia, SC Capitol Building. This Note has fairly typical circulation wear. This ones hand-written serial number is still clearly visible, and reads “27903”—$80
Richmond February 17th, 1864 Series $10 Confederate note. The background scene displays the desirable “Horses pulling cannons” scene. This one has typical circulation wear. — $85 SOLD
Richmond February 17th, 1864 Series $5 Confederate note. The background scene displays the Confederate State Capitol building in Richmond, VA. This one shows little circulation wear and is still in great shape. The serial number is still very legible, and reads “21694.” This would be a fine addition to any Confederate display. — $95
Richmond February 17th, 1864 Series $20 Confederate note. The background display is the quite desired “Nashville Capitol Building” Scene. The serial number is faded, but I can still make out a few of the numbers in good lighting. This note shows normal circulation wear. — $95
Single Sided Bills/Documents
Richmond September 2nd, 1861 series (First Series) $10 Confederate note. This Note bears the very neat “Francis Marion’s Sweet Potato Dinner” background scene. The serial number on this note is still very vivid and was written in RED ink, and reads “36452"! This one shows normal circulation wear, including creases and a couple pin-holes, which makes this note more affordable than its mint, uncirculated counterparts. — $150
Richmond September 2nd, 1861 series $20 Confederate note. The background bears “industry” seated in between a winged cupid and a beehive, which is symbolism for industry. This note shows fairly significant circulation wear, which means it has probably been in many different southerners pockets! The serial number is still very legible and reads “26621”. This is an early series bill at a good price for any collector! — $85
Richmond September 2nd, 1861 series $20 Confederate note. This is an early series note that bears the very neat “Sailing Ship” background scene. The serial number was written in red ink, and is still vibrant, reading “14769”. This note shows normal wear, showing creases and a few small dings along the edges. — $125
State of Georgia, Wills Valley Railroad backed fractional currency. This coupon has been around the block plenty, and shows fairly significant wear around the edges, and also bears several pinholes, most visible near the “E” in “CENTS”, and in the “W” in “TWENTY”. The text is legible, and reads, “For work done and provisions furnishes, or either, in and about the construction of the WILLS VALLEY RAILROAD, this will be received for TWENTY FIVE CENTS in payment of stock due and owing said Wills Valley Railroad Company, April 1st, 1862”. Under this text is the original signature. — $80
August 19th, 1861 Confederate States of America “Forty Dollar” Bond receipt. This is in quite good shape, with only one corner being creased. This one bears a bond number of “640”, as well as still bearing the signature of the bond recipient! This is a very neat piece of financial history in the Confederacy! — $22
